Free Parallel Parking Simulator
Practise Sky Driving School's parallel parking method step by step, right in your browser, with clear visual reference points that help you understand what happens at each stage.
Practise the Sequence Before You Drive
The Sky Driving School parallel parking simulator lets you rehearse the parking sequence on screen, at your own pace, before or between lessons. It is a free learning aid that helps the progression feel familiar before you practise it in a car.
Over the years at Sky Driving School Ltd., we have worked with students who understood parallel parking perfectly during an explanation, then found it hard to remember everything when it was their turn. Some worried about getting too close to another vehicle. Others felt the pressure of a driver waiting behind them. Sometimes a student simply lost track of where they were in the manoeuvre. That experience is why we built this tool for learners taking driving lessons in Victoria BC and across BC.
About the simulator: The Sky Driving School parallel parking simulator follows our four step parallel parking method, including a 360 degree vision check before reversing. It has two modes: Demo, which shows the full sequence, and Quiz, which tests you over three rounds with less help each round. It is free, works directly in your browser and was built by the certified driving instructors at Sky Driving School in Victoria, BC.
Use the simulator. Repeat it. Learn from it. Then take that understanding into supervised practice behind the wheel.

Why We Built the Simulator
We built the simulator because understanding a manoeuvre while parked is different from performing it in traffic. It gives students a calm place to see, repeat and learn the progression first.
Our certified driving instructors see this regularly during driving lessons in Victoria. When it is the student's turn, there is suddenly a lot to process at once:
- The vehicle, the curb and the parked car beside you all need attention.
- Other road users may be approaching, and someone may be waiting behind you.
- You are also trying to remember what comes next in the sequence.
Some students arrive already worried about parallel parking because of something they heard or experienced before. We see all of these moments as part of learning. Rather than adding more information while a student is controlling a vehicle, the simulator lets them become familiar with the process without steering a real car at the same time.
Watch It, Practise It, Then Drive It
Video, simulator and car each teach a different part of parallel parking. Only the car develops the actual driving skill.
Watch
A video shows the manoeuvre demonstrated from beginning to end.
Practise
The simulator lets you watch the sequence in Demo mode, then test yourself in Quiz mode as often as you need.
Drive
A real vehicle builds steering, speed control, observation and judgement. A screen cannot replace this part.
How to Use the Parallel Parking Simulator
The parallel parking simulator opens in Quiz mode. If you are new to parallel parking, tap Demo first to watch the full sequence, then switch back to Quiz.
Both modes are at the top of the simulator, next to the restart button. You are not trying to set a speed record. You are building familiarity.
- Demo mode walks through all four steps one tap at a time, showing the steering wheel, the vehicle movement, the gear and the 360 degree vision check.
- Quiz mode asks a short question at each stage. Choose the right answer and the car moves on.
- Round 1 gives you the most help, with reference lines showing each stopping point.
- Round 2 gives you less help, and Round 3 gives you none.
- Reference photos show what you see from the driver's seat at each stop. In Quiz mode they unlock once you answer.
- Audio reads each quiz question aloud. Use the speaker button in the simulator to turn it off or back on.
Students learn differently. Some understand an explanation immediately, some need a demonstration, and others need several repetitions before something feels familiar. Here there is no one waiting behind you, so take as many attempts as you need.
Use the simulator both before and after a lesson. Before, it introduces the progression. After, it helps you review while the lesson is still fresh.
What the Simulator Helps You Do
The simulator helps you learn the order of the parallel parking sequence so your attention is freer once you are driving.
- Become familiar with the progression before practising in a vehicle.
- Interact with the lesson instead of only watching a video.
- Follow the vehicle movement and steering on screen.
- See reference photos of the view from the driver's seat at each stop.
- Check what you remember with a three round quiz, with each question read aloud.
- Repeat any part you do not remember.
- Review between lessons and prepare questions for your instructor.
When one part of driving takes less mental effort, you can give more attention to everything else involved in becoming a safe driver.
What If Your Car Looks Different
Your car will usually look and feel a little different from the simulator, and that is expected.
No online simulator can completely reproduce driving a real vehicle. Treat what you see on screen as a learning reference, then adjust during supervised practice for the vehicle you are driving.
To see how far to turn the steering wheel in your own vehicle, use our parallel parking steering wheel calculator.
- Vehicle length, width and steering vary from car to car, so the reference points may need small adjustments in your car.
- Your height and seating position change what you see from the driver's seat, so a reference point may line up a little earlier or later for you.
- A real street includes changing traffic, pedestrians, cyclists and other traffic situations a simple tool cannot fully recreate.
The simulator cannot give you the physical experience of controlling a vehicle. Use it as preparation and reinforcement, and continue to follow your instructor or supervising driver in the car.
What If You Lose Track of the Steps
Losing your place is normal. Go back and replay that part of the simulator instead of pushing ahead.
Many drivers find parallel parking challenging at first, and forgetting where you are in the sequence is one of the most common reasons. That is exactly the moment the simulator is built for.
- Switch to Demo mode and use the Back button to replay the step where you lost track.
- Say each stage out loud as you go through it, then try the quiz again.
- Write down anything that still feels unclear and ask your instructor at your next lesson.
If it takes several attempts before the progression makes sense, that is fine. Our goal is not instant perfection. Practice makes progress.
From the Simulator to the Car
Once the progression feels familiar, the next stage is supervised practice in a real vehicle.
This is where you connect what you saw on screen with actual vehicle movement and the view from your own driver's seat. A certified driving instructor can show you which parts you already understand and which parts still need practice. The simulator gives you a head start. The vehicle is where you develop the skill.

How to Parallel Park for the ICBC Road TestReady to Try It in a Car?
If parallel parking makes you anxious, our nervous driving lessons Victoria BC take it one stage at a time, in our automatic dual control Toyota Prius Prime and Hyundai Elantra training vehicles, where the instructor can assist when needed.
Before You Leave the Simulator
You do not need to test yourself on every detail. Ask yourself a few simple questions instead.
- Can I use the simulator without feeling rushed?
- Is the overall progression becoming more familiar?
- Am I starting to anticipate what comes next?
- Is there anything I should review again or ask my instructor about?
If something still feels confusing, repeat the simulator. That is exactly why we built it.
More Manoeuvres to Practise
Parallel parking is one of several manoeuvres that may come up on your BC road test. These guides cover the others.

Yes. The Sky Driving School parallel parking simulator is free and runs in your web browser. There is nothing to download or install.
Yes. Quiz mode runs three rounds with less help each round. Demo mode shows the full sequence first, so you can watch before you test yourself.
No. The simulator is a learning aid that helps you become familiar with the progression. Supervised practice in a vehicle is still needed to develop vehicle control and driving experience.
There is no required number. Use it until the progression feels familiar, paying attention to what you see rather than clicking through quickly.
Vehicle size, steering, seating position and driver height all change what you see. Use the simulator as a learning reference and adjust during supervised practice.
Both work. Before a lesson it introduces the progression. After a lesson it helps you review what you practised while it is still fresh.
Our How to Parallel Park for the ICBC Road Test guide covers the complete method. This page stays focused on the interactive simulator.
Practise Here, Then Build the Skill
Parallel parking does not have to become familiar all at once. Use the simulator to explore and repeat the progression, then develop the physical skill with a certified driving instructor.
