Most students preparing for the ICBC Class 7 N road test take between 6 and 10 lessons with a professional instructor. The exact number depends on your experience and how much you practice between lessons with a co-pilot. ICBC recommends at least 60 hours of supervised driving before your test.
After you pass the ICBC knowledge test and get your L licence you need to hold it for at least 12 months before taking your Class 7 N road test. After passing your N test you need to hold your N for at least 24 months before taking your Class 5 road test. That is a minimum of 3 years from L to full Class 5. If you complete an ICBC approved driving course the N phase can be reduced by 6 months.
A road test evaluation is a 90 minute mock road test with one of our instructors. We drive the same routes and assess you using the same ICBC criteria the examiner will use. At the end we tell you exactly what you need to work on before your actual test. If you are worried about failing and having to wait 14 to 60 days to rebook your test a road test evaluation is worth doing first.
